Web Design

The way I design website layouts is with the motto "keep it simple." I don't like to make it where it takes too many steps or too difficult to navigate around a website. I also believe in creating designs that are clean and simple. I don't believe in designs that take away from what the client's purpose of each website element.

Skills/Tools: handcode HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, FrontPage.

HTmarket.com New Header

Old Header:

New Header:

I was given the task of redesigning the header portion of the website at my job. I was just told to make the search box much more visible and bigger, add some new tabs for my account functions, make the phone # bigger, and make the shopping cart more visible as well as include a part for the shopping cart counter. Unfortunately because of client restrictions I could not make it more clean looking. Function over fashion was more the idea it seems. TO me it looks much more texty now but this is what we ended up agreeing to. The big challenge was how to make something with so much required text look cleaner?

Mademoiselleinc.com

I had a freelance job for Mademoiselle Inc, a ladies accessories company based in Chicago. They wanted a website to sell their stuff online. First image is the home page and second image is an individual product page.

UICarea.com Home Page

I created a website layout for my church's community website. It had places to eat, live, study, and have fun in the UIC area.
